The St. Petrus Church, built in 1924 in Neo-Romanesque style, is a central landmark in Gulpen. The current church is younger than it looks: the medieval village church was demolished when it was built. Only its old Romanesque tower, dating back to the 11th to 13th century, still stands nearby as a separate historic monument.
