Often called the Liquid Rainbow, this river gets its brilliant red coloration from a unique aquatic plant called Macarenia clavigera. During the brief transition between wet and dry seasons, this plant clings to the rocks and blooms in vibrant shades of pink and crimson, creating a surreal underwater garden.
