Grandidier's baobab is the most famous of Madagascar's six endemic baobab species, known for its massive cylindrical trunks and flat-topped crowns. The Avenue of the Baobabs features dozens of these ancient giants, some over 800 years old. Interestingly, these trees store thousands of liters of water inside their trunks to survive the harsh dry seasons. Photo: Pat Hooper from Chicago, IL, USA, Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 2.0.
