Fort San Andres was built by the Spanish in the late 18th century as a coastal defense fort right on the shoreline. However, extensive land reclamation over the centuries has left the fort completely landlocked, sitting several blocks inland. Today, it houses a museum and stands as one of the last surviving Spanish fortifications in the city. Photo: Grueslayer, Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0.
