Qurnat as Sawda is the highest peak in Lebanon, rising to 3,088 meters (10,131 feet) above sea level in the Mount Lebanon range. While Mount Hermon is famous and very high, its summit lies on the border between Syria and Lebanon/Israeli-controlled territory, and is slightly lower than Qurnat as Sawda.
