The Bayterek Tower is designed to embody a Kazakh folktale about the tree of life and a magic bird named Samruk. Every year, the bird lays a golden egg, representing the sun and life, in the crevice between the tree's branches. Visitors can ride an elevator inside the tower to the very top of the sphere for panoramic views of the capital.
