Yennenga is a legendary Mossi princess considered the mother of the Mossi people. She was a skilled fighter who commanded her father's cavalry. Her son, Ouedraogo, founded the Mossi Empire, and she is celebrated throughout Ouagadougou with various statues and monuments.
