Hegra, also known as Mada'in Salih, was the second-largest city of the Nabataean Kingdom after Petra. It features over one hundred exceptionally preserved monumental tombs with decorated facades carved directly into sandstone hills. It became Saudi Arabia's very first UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008.
