The Saola is often called the 'Asian Unicorn' due to its extreme rarity and the long, straight horns on its head. First discovered by scientists in 1992 in the Annamite Range, it is one of the most elusive large mammals on Earth. No biologist has ever successfully kept a Saola in captivity, and sightings in the wild remain incredibly rare.
