Pyatroushchyna station features a beautiful blue-lit ceiling dotted with tiny LED lights to create the illusion of a clear night sky. The design was created to evoke a sense of calm and wonder for daily commuters. Interestingly, the station was opened in 2012 as part of an extension to the city's southwest suburbs.

Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin of US President John F. Kennedy, defected to the Soviet Union and was sent to live in Minsk. He was given a subsidized apartment and a job as a metalworker at the radio factory before returning to the US. While living there, he met and married his wife, Marina Prusakova.

The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus boasts one of the largest lilac collections in Europe. It is a major research institution and a peaceful green haven right in the middle of the capital. Interestingly, the garden spans over 90 hectares, making it one of the largest in Europe by area.

Trinity Hill, or Troitskoye Predmestye, is a picturesque historic district in Minsk. Although much of it was destroyed during World War II, it was meticulously restored in the 1980s to show what old Minsk looked like. Today, it is filled with cozy cafes, museums, and souvenir shops along the water.

Victory Square features a grand 38-meter-tall granite obelisk topped with a replica of the Soviet Order of Victory. An eternal flame burns at its base to honor the soldiers and partisans who fought in World War II. Underneath the square, there is a circular memorial hall where the names of fallen heroes are inscribed.

Gorky Park in Minsk features a popular 54-meter-tall Ferris wheel that offers passengers a sweeping view of the city center and the Svislach River. Opened in 1805, the park is the oldest public park in Minsk. It originally served as a municipal garden and even features an educational observatory and planetarium.

Independence Avenue is a prime example of Stalinist Empire style architecture, characterized by its symmetrical, monumental buildings and spacious layout. It was built after World War II to showcase Soviet urban planning. The avenue is so grand that it has been proposed for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The Church of Saints Simon and Helena is widely known as the Red Church due to its striking red brick exterior. Built in the early 20th century, its construction was funded by a local nobleman in memory of his two deceased children. Remarkably, the church survived the Soviet era despite being used as a cinema and theater.

The Belarusian State Circus is located on Independence Avenue in a grand, purpose-built domed building opened in 1959. It was the first permanent winter circus building in the entire Soviet Union. The arena is designed to host not only classic circus acts but also complex water shows and ice performances.

Minsk-Arena is one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe and serves as the home ice for HC Dinamo Minsk, which plays in the Kontinental Hockey League. It also hosted the 2014 IIHF World Championship. The venue is incredibly versatile and has hosted major international concerts by stars like Shakira and Rammstein.
